#SH with Sandy E.

Hey Sandy, can you introduce yourself to us?

My name is Sandy Esprit. I am currently on maternity leave so I’m a stay at home mom. I’m a social media content creator as well as a singer-songwriter.

Can you take us through your self-love journey to where you are now?

My self-love journey is still evolving. I was raised by a wonderful woman who did her to provide me with the tools to make it in this world. Unfortunately self love wasn’t something we could often tackle due to some unwanted complications. I think it all came to a halt when I became a mother for the first time I realized how much I really did not want my daughter to end up thinking the way I thought. I couldn’t afford therapy so I found a couple of my friends and started to really work on myself. That being said it wasn’t easy. I prayed a lot and had to be real with myself. I knew the woman I wanted to be and just went for it.

What are some of your favorite self-love + self-care practices?

My favourite is to look at myself in the mirror and tell myself how amazing I am and all the reasons for the aforementioned statement lol

How would you like your self-love journey to inspire other women?

I want other women to love themselves just because they exist and not because they are “good” at being whatever they’ve been conditioned to be.

How has motherhood changed your life for the better?

It made me become aware of the woman I was and to be honest I didn’t want her anywhere near my kid lol.

How are you so comfortable with your body now? How do you overcome negative thoughts about your body image?

I’m comfortable with my body until I have to do any physical activity. Gravity is no joke lol. The one thing that keeps me from going over the deep end with the negative thoughts is the fact that I pushed out 2 babies. I handled 40 hours of labour like a champ, of course the epidural helped and with my second I was able to get up and walk after I gave birth. My husband and children absolutely do not care about my body so why should I?

What is one major change that you made in your life that has affected you most positively?

One major thing was not to worry about food.

When do you feel like your best self?

I feel my best self when I’m being creative. Whether it’s music or creating content on social media

Where can you see yourself within the next 3-5 years?

Probably with another kid lol. I would hope to have a single out and push more of my music.

What inspire you to start a blog? What advice would you give to someone looking to start a blog of their own?

I wanted to help other women who were in the same situation as me. So many of us don’t have a positive outlook at life and then we have these kids we need to care for. I wanted them to feel capable of being all they could and loving every minute of it. My advice is make sure you want to do this with a purpose and not for fame.

What is your favorite clothing item/color to wear? Why?

My favourite colour to wear is black because you can’t tell it’s dirty. Which is crucial when out with a toddler and a baby.

What beauty advice would you like to share with other women?

My beauty advice is to drink water. Honestly does things that the best beauty serum cannot do.

How do you measure your own terms of success?

My idea if success is having whatever lifestyle makes you the most happy.

How would you like your story to inspire other women?

I want other women to feel powerful and invincible. That’s what I hope women get out of my story. It’s tough and sometimes things happen and it sucks but we as women are made for this.

Lastly, what in your self-transformation journey are you looking forward to exploring next?

The next part of my self-transformation that I’m currently on is putting myself out there shamelessly and boldly.
